MLB News: Angels Put Kazmir on Waivers

What the hell happened to Scott Kazmir? Remember it was considered a major gaffe when the New York Mets sent him to Tampa Bay for the likes of Victor Zambrano? Yeah, not Carlos Zambrano….Victor.

Kazmir turned into a decent pitcher from 2005-2008 and it looked like he’d have a bright future. But somewhere, it all got lost. He’s been terrible and gave up 30 runs in 15 1/3 innings at the minor league level this year. The Anaheim Angels have obviously decided that enough is enough, and they’ve placed him on waivers.

“#angels put Scott Kazmir on waivers for purpose of granting him his unconditional release,” tweets Bill Shaikin of the LA Times.

Kazmir is due $12 million this year with a $2.5 million buyout for the 2012 season. Think anyone will put in a claim? Of course not. As far as you’re concerned, the 27-year old is a free agent. It remains to be seen if someone will kick his tires. We’re sure someone will.
