Allow your thoughts to run with the wind

| by

It is a warm night and as I sit here in my quiet place twirling a small glass of ice chilled drink (yes this yogini does have one now and again) My mind wanders off to the Land of Thoughts. The place where I can escape to without any interruptions of any sorts. With each sip I take a different posture, thought, expression, movement or even a smile emerges.

Thoughts are the shadows of our feelings- always darker, emptier and simpler

Frederich Nietzsch

With every thought comes a similar or different line of thought. Like shadows of the other. Playing games with one another. Taking me through various strings of emotions like the strings of a guitar. Playing the game of 'catch me if you can.' It skips, hops and jumps like a child. Moving frantically from one place to another trying to catch a glimpse of what could or may happen but never standing still long enough to see the outcome.

One great use of words is to hide our thoughts

Each word creating a meaning of its own so as to hide or cover the original meaning. Taking me through a maze of words and never allowing me to find or hold on to the right meaning.  Lucky for me I can laugh at the way my thoughts have run wild with the wind!

The main thing in one's own private world is to try to laugh as much as you cry

Maya Angelou

The beauty about being surrounded with my own thoughts is that I can either laugh, cry, get mad with it or ignore it or just be with it. No one to tell me other wise. It is up to me to do what I want it. My thoughts are my own to make or break the story within my four walls.

All my life I have tried to pluck a thistle and plant a flower wherever the flower would grow in thought and mind

Abraham Lincoln

No matter the outcome my thoughts have had to come back to earth! Yes! I have had to bring them down from floating up high in the sky. Bring them down so that I can plant them and see them grow. Out of my many thoughts one or two of them would be nourished and nurtured. They would become strong, stable and mature as the years go by........

Let your practice of thoughts run wild and when ready sow the ones that have meaning and importance to you. This too is the practice of Yoga.
