Ahmadinejad Says Election Was Real and Free as Riots Rage

Riots and protests continue to rage in Tehran a day after current Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was declared the victor in a tightly fought election. His opponent, the reformist Mir Hossein Mousavi, has insisted that the election was rigged and has urged his supporters to take to the streets.

Today Ahmadinejad gave a speech thanking the Iranians who helped re-elect him and emphatically stating that the election was "real and free."
