After Pole Dance, is Miley Cyrus Too Racy for Teens?

Parents will likely think twice before allowing their daughters to attend a Miley Cyrus concert after the teen pop mega-star performed what can only be described as a short pole dance atop an ice cream cart during a performance at Sunday night's Teen Choice Awards in Los Angeles.

OpposingViews asks: Is Miley Cyrus too racy for children? Would you let your daughter attend her concerts?

Yeah, there wasn't any pole dancing there. There are however, a stage full of teen girls wearing the shortest shorts possible with high heeled boots shaking their asses. So yes, Miley Cyrus is too racy for teens .

You do live on Earth right? If you consider that slutty then you must not leave your home often. I absolutely don't consider that to racy for teens .

The new Brit Spears is not to far away from 2 kids a drug problem and shaving her head.

Haha who cares? It's her dad's and mom's greed that's turning her into an object.

Yea, I agree ianto94 weak effort on the pole dance anyways.

pole dancing could be considered a form of artful expression, in which case she would be in the clear.

Miley is managed by her mother who is a proper
parent and the production crew that backs Miley
is very careful to protect her safety during
shows. When they appear to toss her into the
air they keep a handhold on her. All props and
sets have provisions for her to hang on if nec-
cessary. When needed, she wears her sneakers
rather than unsafe shoes. The 'pole' in this
case was a safety hand-hold, a hand-rail to
cope with the possibly unstable cart she was
standing on. I don't think she is too racy for
tweens-n- teens . Her sitcom is popular with all
ages, too...Aaron[a grandfather]..

Hey she's famous people are always looking for her little slip up's or something that is completely innocent that we can twist and warp to make her look bad. It was not a pole dance. People please give it a break no wonder celebrities crack under the pressure. She's just a teen herself let's not be so ready to throw her under the bus.

Give me a break. That is least racey pole dance I have ever seen.

For Cyrus that raised position was safer than being tossed or carried aloft by the male dancers. They had to find a way to make her visible in the mass of other dancers. If you watch the whole performance she was the same height as her dancers and hidden behind them for some viewers.

On her concert DVD she was dropped by one of the dancers in a rehearsal during a carry-on-shoulder dance movement. When you are holding a billion dollar talent several feet in the air you find a way to do things safer. (She may not be worth a billion personally but she is making that type of money for Disney.)

The ride on the ice cream truck was a simple answer. She needed something to hold on to and balance. The pole was probably a substitute for an umbrella pole normally on such sales trucks.
