Accused Horse Abuser Misses Court Due to Depression

| by DeepDiveAdmin

Robin Vess, the woman accused of not properly caring for her huge collection of horses on an Ottawa County farm, did not appear in court Thursday as she is being treated for depression at a regional hospital.

Her attorney, Mark Davis, appeared in Ottawa County Municipal Court and entered a not guilty plea on her behalf during an arraignment.

Vess is facing 42 counts of animal cruelty. Six horses were found dead and dozens more malnourished on a farm near Oak Harbor in late January.
