For the last two weeks, women have been coming out of the woodwork to claim relationships with Tiger Woods, a married golfer who was just named the Associated Press' Athlete of the Decade.
It seems like every day a new name gets added to the list. Factual.com, which hosts community-edited lists and tables, has put up an interactive table so you can keep things straight. (Remember, like Wikipedia, it's only as accurate as the community makes it.) Click here to see it. You too can contribute details that you've read elsewhere.
The list begins, of course, with Rachel Uchitel, the New York City party planner. Uchitel has thus far remained quiet, but it was the story about their alleged relationship in a tabloid that reportedly touched off the Thanksgiving fight between Woods and his wife, which led to the car accident that started this whole sordid tale.
The list goes on to include a couple of cocktail waitresses, a couple of porn stars, and some wannabe models. The majority of them are blonde, just like his Swedish wife Elin Nordegren, who, by the way, is a real model.
Some of these women sold their stories, others went on TV to confirm relationships, and others have stayed mum. In any case, Tiger Woods certainly has a lot of explaining to do to his wife. There are reports she has hired a divorce lawyer, so the intensely private Woods may have to do his explaining to a judge.
Singer Jessica Simpson is firing back at reports that she is on the
list of women who allegedly had dalliances with embattled superstar
golfer. Star magazine is reporting in its current issue that Simpson and Woods exchanged contact information, and perhaps more.
magazine says Simpson met Woods at a golf tournament in July, just days
before she and Tony Romo, who was partnered with Woods in the tourney,
broke up. “Jessica said that she felt like Tony wasn’t paying attention
to her, so she was like, ‘What the heck!’” says a source. “She decided
to have fun with Tiger whether it bothered Tony or not.”
And Woods reportedly encouraged it. "Tiger liked what he saw and let her know it," the same source claims.
Simpson's representatives say the singer is outraged by the innuendo, and is threatening legal action. Her publicist told E! News,
"'Literally the only thing that's true in the story is the fact that
they met. It was a quick meeting, and they posed for a photo together -
that was it. Jessica's lawyer is sending them (Star magazine) a letter this afternoon."
