The 4th Annual Telluride Yoga Festival is right around the Corner!
Leaders of western yoga to teach a wide range of disciplines at yoga festival that promotes commitment to environmental issues
An event to enjoy yoga, community and stunning natural beauty, the 4th Annual Telluride Yoga Festival is taking place on July 14-17th in the picturesque San Juan mountains. Drawing world-renowned yoga masters, the festival is pleased to announce David Swenson, Beryl Bender Birch, Mark Whitwell, Chandra Easton, Scott Blossom and Noah Maze to join the event’s impressive roster.
The festival brings the best of the best instructors from around the country and abroad for attendees to create their ideal weekend workshop schedules as well as host a series of public events designed to unify the yogic community and raise awareness about environmental issues. The Telluride Yoga Festival strives to create the most environmentally friendly conference possible by asking all vendors and presenters to bring in only recyclable materials. In addition, the festival donates 25% of the net proceeds to a different local environmental organization each year, with the New Community Coalition being this year’s recipient.
The three-day festival begins with mediation, three two-hour workshops and an opening reception with live music. The festival boasts a variety of free public events for participants and families, from hula hooping to monkey chanting to acrobatic partner yoga, as well as lectures on health and how to set up a home yoga practice space. Throughout the weekend, there are workshops and sessions for all levels, from beginner to seasoned individuals.
“Expect top notch instructors in a peaceful mountain setting, clean air, great food and beauty every place you look,” said David Hollander, an Ashtanga and Vinyasa instructor. “If there was ever a good place to reach Samadhi, this is it folks – come to the high places for the ancient knowledge!”
In addition to the established master teachers, three of the Festival’s instructors – Scott Blossom, Chandra Easton and Alanna Kaivalya – were recognized in Yoga Journal magazine’s list of “Top 21 Yoga Instructors Under 40”. These emerging stars will help to round out a weekend of extraordinary talent in an unforgettable setting.
The official festival hotel is The Peaks Resort & Spa, located conveniently in the center of all of the yoga action in Telluride’s Mountain Village. The Peaks offers weekend packages including lodging, breakfast, and spa treatments combined with a yoga festival weekend pass.
