49ers Heach Coach Mike Singletary Fired

| by Sports Nickel

The San Francisco 49ers have fired their head coach, Mike Singletary, Sunday night after two disappointing seasons at the helm.

After going 5-10 this year, a year the franchise was expected to win the NFC West, the organization came to the conclusion that it just wasn’t working.

Team president and CEO Jed York told reporters, “I want to thank Mike Singletary for the passion and effort that he brought to this organization. He is a tremendous person for whom I will always have great respect.”

Singletary finished with an 18-22 record in two-plus seasons, making this the 8th straight season the 49ers have missed the playoffs.
