According to Mike Klis of the Denver Post, the Denver Broncos will kick off their 2011 redemption tour as a featured game on Monday Night Football – taking on the Oakland Raiders at Invesco Field at Mile High.
One of the biggest question marks for Denver: What will the quarterback situation look like? Will Tim Tebow still be at backup? What about a new rookie like Jake Locker?
The game, scheduled for September 12, will mark the first time that the Broncos have opened the year at home since 2004. Further, it will be the team’s 20th year in a row of being included in a Monday Night Football outing, the longest such streak in the league.
Also noted in Klis’ report was that Denver would play against the New York Jets in a Thursday night game at Invesco Field in November, and then the Bears at the same locale during Week 14 on December 11.
The official Broncos schedule, in its entirety, will be released by the league at 7:00 p.m. eastern time on Tuesday.
