‘Boy in a Bikini,’ Other Gay Films Shown in California Schools
San Francisco, CA - A San Francisco group billing itself as "the best in LGBT media" is claiming hundreds of public schools in California have signed up to show its films and use accompanying discussion materials. One film features a boy "coming out" by wearing his mother's bikini. Another film incorporates Native American spiritualism to cast LGBT (lesbian, gay bisexual and transgender) persons as "two-spirit" people.
The films and school materials are being distributed by Youth in Motion, a partnership between Frameline and Gay-Straight Alliance Network. YIM can be accessed at http://frameline.org/youthinmotion/index.html (warning: may contain offensive content). The films are accompanied by a "curriculum guide" and "action guide." Among other things, the guides encourage students to question whether religious and cultural celebrations, such as Jewish bar mitzvahs, wrongly discourage homosexual and transgender lifestyles.
The list of schools claimed to use these materials include scores of high schools throughout the state, as well as a few middle and junior high schools, and at least one elementary school in San Leandro, California. While many of the affected schools are located in the Bay Area and Southern California, other regions - including the Sacramento area and small communities in the Central Valley and the Sierras - are also affected.
Parents are strongly encouraged to check the list of affected schools here or call Pacific Justice Institute to determine whether the Youth in Motion curriculum is being used in their child's school.

What ever happened to the Christian belief that God will take care of protecting us? Thats been hammered into my head since early childhood, and yet as an adult I find that those that preach it, don't practice it at all(gasp, shock). Instead they move to oppress other groups who do not agree with their "morals"that they now speak for God and can interpret what He meant us to do, think and be...who said your morals are better than mine or any GLBT? This country and those that came 1st...as conquerors and slaughterers of a peaceful nation of people? You think God said it was ok so they could rule? This country was started in not Christianity, but power driven, fear based men/people...who needed to wipe out any opposition, ohh sound familiar? Except now they have many more followers and can claim the rights established in our constitution that they now desire to tweek more to their side. Christianity will break down the family when it promotes discrimination , bigotry, hatred and separation...judgement. Someday your children will grow up and learn the truth for themselves, then what?
Its sexist, offensive, sexually warped. Its trying to impregnant the idea within young boys/ teens that sexy can be another boy/man in a swimsuit and that woman are yucky! I watched the video and I think the person who showed it should be investigated for criminal activity, ie porn. or human trafficking, if you ask me. One of the main problems with todays public schools is that their standard for teacher selection is so low and so easy for any tom, dick and harry that truely sick people are teaching in schools today.
There is overinflation of grades, poor teacher selection, a gravitation away from basic collective and historical human knowledge toward more social workish type schooling and in the process perverts have taken it over. Get our kids out if you love them!
Sometimes I hit post accidentally -- I'll continue where I left off!
I cannot TELL you how many movies I have seen which glorify straight sexuality, portray men as sexy, as sex objects whom women should find appealing. I've seen movies where men take off their clothes and do all KINDS of things to attract the female lead in the film , and who engage in all kinds of erotic behavior and sexual acts with their female co-star.
Somehow, it has never turned me on to men. I dunno. Just no attraction there for me. There is no amount of sexual behavior or nakedness or anything else which will make me get turned on for men by seeing it in films or ads or anywhere else.
You know why? Because I'm a LESBIAN. I'm attracted to WOMEN.
If you watch a film and start being attracted to people of your own gender, that suggests a great deal more about your own personal sexual orientation that it does about the motivations of the person who produced or exhibited the film, HC.
If you find other men sexy, hallelujah chorus, this suggests that you, yourself, are, at very least, bisexual. No movie or ad campaign can cause you to become sexually attracted to a gender to which you are not innately disposed to be attracted.
I should know. If movies or ad campaigns could make someone become attracted to a gender which is ordinarily unappealing to them, then I should have changed from gay to straight DECADES ago. I cannot TELL
Where did you see the video ?
Are here to teach you a variety of information from english, math and science to sex education , mythology and mechanics.
Teaching tolerance to kids (and anybody really) is a great thing that I thing the bible teaches, but doesn't practice. This wasn't even taught in the school it's more of a club.
I had a Gay Straight alliance in highschool and it worked out fine they would pass out their fliers and everything else. Nobody I knew was ever offended by it. Their parents might have been, but not the kids. I think it's kind of like the progressive students during the civil rights movement for blacks. Many more parents were racist than their children were.
The website isn't offensive at all.
....PUBLIC SCHOOLS....
Sorry about that. I have a whole different problem with religious private schools .
As a parent I was deeply disturb by this article until I did some research. This article is riddled with errors and omissions. I don't believe the person or persons who wrote this article did any research. I would hope parents would base their opions on research rather than this article based on irrational bias.
Here is more information I thought very disturbing:

The quote by the National Gay and Lesbian task force should scare the heck out of all parents!
They dont want the people to vote on fundamental human rights...WHAT??? Now that should scare any parent!
But these should remove any concern you might have and make all parents more at ease and feel like we can protect marriage and children with men such as these helping us!
Focus on the Family – “Marriage is a sacred union, ordained by God to be a life-long, sexually exclusive relationship between one man and one woman. Focus on the Family holds this institution in the highest esteem, and strongly opposes any legal sanction of marriage counterfeits, such as the legalization of same-sex marriage or the granting of marriage-like benefits to same-sex couples, cohabiting couples, or any other non-marital relationship.” ( http://www.family.org/cforum/fosi/marriage/ssuap /)
Family Research Council – “For the well-being of children and of society , we must not allow the creation of government-imposed counterfeit "marriage" by any name. Marriage is civilization's primary institution, and we tamper with it at our own peril.” ( http://www.frc.org/get.cfm?i=IF03J01 )
AMEN
Hallelujahchorus, you said: "The quote by the National Gay and Lesbian task force should scare the heck out of all parents!

You are so very confused about the nature of fundamental human rights. If something IS a fundamental human right, then it is not subject to popular vote . Subjecting the question of human rights to a popular vote is antithetical to the VERY NATURE of "fundamental human rights."
Should we vote upon whether or not people have the right to be free rather than slaves? If that question was put to a referendum in Georgia in 1860, what do you suppose the outcome of the vote would have been? Would the fact that the vast majority of Georgians felt that it was perfectly acceptable that black people be held in slavery mean that black people LACK the fundamental human right of being free people? Of course not! They have that right, simply because they are human beings. It is their birthright. The fact that they were being held in slavery does not negate the fact that they possess the fundamental human right to be free people. It simply means that other people were transgressing upon their fundamental human right to freedom.
Does putting it to a vote take away their right to be free people? In concrete terms, yes, but it does not mean they are no longer entitled to that right to freedom. It does not mean that freedom is not their birthright as human beings. It just means that justice has been grossly miscarried because a FUNDAMENTAL HUMAN RIGHT was put to a popular vote. (Of course, slavery was not decided by popular referendum, but the net result is the same when elected representatives vote to continue to allow people's fundamental human rights to be violated. Putting such matters to public referendum generally only exacerbates the problem, however.)
If FUNDAMENTAL HUMAN RIGHTS could be decided by popular vote, there would be no reason or need to protect them. The populace (and often, their elected representatives) is the very thing from which people NEED protection, when they are a member of a discriminated class.
