Should the U.S. Use Military Force Against Iran?

Once a distant, mysterious land, the U.S. has become intensely embroiled in Middle Eastern politics. While simultaneously waging campaigns in both Afghanistan and Iraq, America has turned a wary eye to Iran and its alleged nuclear weapons. With the lives of potentially thousands of soldiers and citizens at stake in both countries, should the U.S. take direct military action against Iran?

This Approach is Mistaken

This approach is mistaken. It rests on the two of the main fallacies of the Western democratic world: a) "the mirror image;" and b) similarities and analogues to other cases.

Iran is different. Its aims and ambitions are different. It has deep religious drive out of 1400 years of frustrations and immense internal religious justification. The issue is not defense but offense. A pure offense aimed at controlling the Islamic world. The apocalypse is here: shi`ah against sunnah. And if one does not understand religion, and history, and geopolitics, he cannot comprehend the issues at stake from Iran's perspective. They are not like North Korea, and they do not care being a pariah state. They are Shiites and they used to be isolated and alienated. They wholeheartedly wish to bring Ali's house to power over the Sunnah. Saudi-Arabia is the target and not Israel. And Iran will not stop until it is stopped.

By the way, the Taliban is back in Afghanistan, and they control 40 percent of the country. It will take a short time after the US lives to take hold of the country. The same case is Iraq. Leaving Iraq, even according to agreements and arrangements means its fall into chaos, its separation to three cantons, and/or under Iran's rule (if its regime is not toppled down before), and wars over all the Middle East.

Under these circumstances America will be forced to intervene militarily, with much higher prices.
