    When did I say that?

I don't think I've made a statement one way or the other on this. All I said was that we should take care of the animals we have domesticated.

      Tell me

Was I wrong to read the context of your reply to ttut21's post as one of challenging the humane-ness of setting free pets like rabbits?

I was mostly just clarifying PETA 's views. Personally I think if would harm the animal by letting it go then you shouldn't do it. That would appear to be the case with these rabbits as many of them were killed.

          I understand

I thought you were saying something else. But while I have you here....

I think you are possible confusing the cause of the amount of rabbits as being people releasing them, ignoring an equally plausible cause: Reproduction. They /do/ breed like rabbit, afterall. =)

            I don't know

I really don't know one way or the other whats causing the rabbit population problem. I would presume though that its caused by a lack of predators. Which is most likely the Swedes fault to begin with so it doesn't justify killing the rabbits anyway.

              Let's try this...

How would /you/ solve this problem??

                I would

Well its people who started the problem by killing all of the natural predators and wrecking the ecosystem. With that its also never right to murder innocent animals for our selfish reasons. I would either do nothing, try to rebuild the natural ecosystem or painlessly capture and relocate the rabbits. Under virtually no circumstances would I kill them.
