There has been a lot of news coverage lately about a family in Colorado whose home is surrounded by natural gas wells. Natural gas has migrated into their water source and contaminated their drinking water. The media are loving this story because they can show?film footage of water from the kitchen sink being lit on fire and bursting into flames, due to the presence of natural gas in the water.?     The 800-Pound Gorilla

    This incident is a symptom of a bigger problem, a proverbial 800-pound gorilla loose in town. This incident is the result of that gorilla thrashing about unrestrained.

    This gorilla has a name: overpopulation.

    How about we deal with the gorilla and get him back in a cage, rather than simply cleaning up in the wake of his rampage? Succeeding in doing that, incidents like this will cease to occur.
