Dressed in a low-cut pink shirt, tight black booty pants, and thick, plastic platform stilettos, Stephanie Babines doesn’t look the part of a political rabble-rouser. Yet an activist is exactly what Babines became when her efforts to help women shape up through fully clothed, decidedly G-rated stripper-inspired aerobics ran afoul of overzealous officials in the small western Pennsylvania town of Mars. This unyieldingly perky 31-year-old entrepreneur, standing in the small forest of steel ... Read the Full Article

The best part is she's not even a stripper and stood up for exotic dancers everywhere! Certifiably she is a pole dancer and not a stripper.

      What is the distinction

between stripper and pole-dancer? Is pole-dancing not a subset of stripping, or is it now it's own thing?

Also, is there a certification board for stripping and\or pole dancing?

        Strippers or

'peelers' as they call them in Canada strip off bikinis and get naked for money .

Pole dancers and acrobats are found in India, Africa, Cirque de Soleil and in movies from the 50's. No clothing is removed in a tantalizing manner for cash.

Brass pole aerobics was made popular and mainstream by strippers. Shouldn't ballet be considered sexy? Lot's of strippers use ballet techniques as well as belly dancing, yoga and Capoeira. Ballet and belly dancing...highly suggestive.

          Alright, but my real question

was on the certification agency for all these people, and are they hiring right now. I'm getting my poli sci degree--I just want to serve my government, you know?

          And just to be clear

dancing while swinging from, or involving, a pole, predates stripping?
