Yesterday was "Bring Your Gun to Worship" at Kentucky Church
I have always wondered
why OC and CC folks didn't carry a weapon in church . I have asked around, and my friends tell me that it's just a simple respect issue. Given that violence does occur in the church, there have recently been a few shootings (not making more of this than it is), and that the idea of OC and CC is to protect oneself and family, it seems to me that everywhere you go should be fair game.
I can honestly say that if a person is carrying, I would much prefer they kept their weapon on them, than locked in the vehicle. The possiblility of theft of the weapon is greatly reduced by having it on their person. Just to be clear, I don't OC or CC or even own a weapon. For me personally, I don't feel a need. But after giving it considerable thought, I just honestly don't care what other law abiding citizens own, or where they carry it.
As a tiny point of contrast, why did the pastor feel the need to have weapons unloaded and extra security? Doesn't that seem just a little contradictory?

Unloaded weapons
I think he was just making a point about gun ownership. I don't know if the pastor really wanted live, loaded firearms around him when he was preaching .
