OPINION: Washington Post Sells White House Access to Lobbyists
Free Enterprise
This is exactly what President Regan meant when he said it was OK
to be a greedy person. Sell anything you have to in order to get more ducats. The selling of influence is the driving force behind the
lobbies, good or bad,and it's sad that legislators only receive input
from the people with the most money ,meaning that his constituents matter very little to them once they learn where the money is.
And voting against or for bills and laws are not their strongest weapons, delay and ignore are their favorite pastimes.and misdirected studies and off shoot investigations are tactics that work
in the delay of any bill or law they want to die in committee.
And the lobbyists influence isn't just with elected officials, they work
on the appointed bureaucrats possibly even harder, because they
are easier.
Case in point: We are still waiting for the DOJ to clarify the "new"
medical marijuana policy, and how long do you think it will take for that? It took 4 months for a congressional committee to ask.
That is a perfect example of the delay tactics lobbies and money
can buy. And we are still waiting.
