    banning pits and other breeds

My brother owned a pit bull for years. He was the most loving, well cared for, best behaved dog I'd ever known. He eventually had to give up his beloved dog because the town he lived in passed legislation that all pits must carry a million dollar liability insurance policy. It is all in the raising of the animal. If you are stupid and raise them badly or not train them at all, of course you are going to have a bad dog. That goes for every breed of dog. They are pack animals and look to you as the leader of their pack to show them how to behave properly. If you do not take your place as leader, they will try to take that place.
