Who Won the Stewart-O'Reilly Battle Royale?

From their own camps. Stewart makes a good case for the progressive opinion. O'Reilly makes a good case for the conservative opinion. I find it funny that they mention Glenn Beck during the 1-on-1 as though Beck's show is a representation of Fox News Network's reporting.

Sure, Fox News is leaning towards the right. But it's easier to identify with your own views and consider opposition to those views as the "enemy." It's a protagonist vs. antagonist issue. MSNBC is just as liberal as Fox is conservative and they have far more "Beck-esque" progressive commentators on board. I can't remember the last time I heard Beck or O'Reilly thoroughly trashing the hosts on MSNBC - something which Olbermann does to Fox's hosts almost nightly.

Fair reporting these days requires most people to do a bit of their own research rather than relying on CNN, Fox, MSNBC and the other media networks. I believe that was exactly the point Obama was trying to make a few days ago while speaking to the Democrats . It's not that media is altogether terrible; it's the divide between politics and reality that we become engaged in, taking on a talking head's opinions rather than forming our own based on what truly affects us (and what we can truly affect).
