Simply put, it allows a BAC of .04 to assign drinking as an issue.
Booze and guns by licensed carriers has simply not been a widespread problem since the law was put in place nearly 7 years ago. (Arguably, it has not only had one high profile case, one in which a drunk retrieved his firearm from his home and returned to the bar to kill the bouncer--and his history suggested that he should have been disqualified for a carry permit, IIRC.)

Prior to passage, this was a well-discussed topic--and the antigun, anticarry crowd, along with numerous political police officials were sure that blood in the streets would follow. It didn't.

gun control: the belief that a woman raped and strangled with her own hose is morally superior to one who defends herself with a firearm.

What does the law in New Mexico say about consuming alcohol while carrying. Most states don't allow it by law , regardless of where you are: home, boat, park, car, top of building, whatever.

So if you can't consume alcohol while carrying, why does it make it more dangerous if you're simply in the same building with it. I can buy alcohol from the liquor store while armed, and so far it has never seemed to be a problem. The mere proximity of me, my gun, and alcohol has never resulted in a death so far, so how exactly is a restaurant any different?
