For years, KFC has assured the public that "treating animals humanely ... is a key part of [its] quality assurance efforts" and that "animals should be free from mistreatment at all possible times from how they are raised and cared for to how they are transported and processed." KFC is feeding the public a bucket of lies.
As footage from PETA's undercover investigations has shown, KFC's remarks concerning its commitment to maintaining high animal welfare standards are false.
In reality, the 350 million chickens killed each year for KFC's in the U.S. live by the tens of thousands in filthy sheds, where they are forced to breathe ammonia-laden air that burns their eyes, skin, feet, and throats.
At the slaughterhouses of KFC's suppliers, chickens are dumped onto conveyor belts, their legs are slammed into metal shackles, their throats are cut while they are still conscious, and they are sometimes scalded alive in defeathering tanks. As long as it continues to purchase chickens raised and killed in this way, KFC cannot say that it is "committed to the humane treatment of animals."
PETA has filed a formal complaint with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) urging it to force KFC to retract false statements regarding its so-called "animal welfare" policies and advisory panel, and we need you to do the same. The more consumer complaints the FTC receives about KFC, the more likely it is that the agency will take action.

PETA lies about their own treatment of animals
PETA members were arrested for picking up dogs and cats from animal shelters and killing them in their van while still in the parking lot. Then, they dumped the bodies in a dumpster of a local supermarket. This occured on numerous occasions and was only uncovered when the dumpster was staked out after finding the bodies week after week.
How can they claim that this treatment of defenseless animals is ethical?
They have a large walk-in freezer at their headquarters to store the bodies of the animals they kill. Only 1 of every 300 animals they take in are placed in a loving home. The rest are killed.
Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.
