From the TFN Insider blog Worried about the spread of swine flu?
Wendy Wright from the far-right group
Concerned Women for
America thinks the alarm is all just part of a conspiracy by the Obama
administration. Wright charges that the administration declared a “state of
emergency” not to make it easier for the government to respond to outbreaks of
swine flu in this country.
No, she says, the real reason is to promote the nomination of
Kansas Gov.
Kathleen
Sebelius as secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services.a
"Some people think that declaring a state of emergency about the flu was a
political thing to push the Sebelius nomination through. If there’s even a hint
that [Department of Homeland Security] is manipulating the
health situation to
push a political appointee through, well, it almost defies imagination that
they’d be willing to do that."
If Wright wants to hear something that “defies imagination,” perhaps she
should listen to her own whacked-out drivel. Far-right groups like CWA have been
mounting a huge attack opposing the Senate confirmation of Sebelius, whose
pro-choice views have made her the right’s newest devil. But the Obama
administration is using concerns about swine flu to get her confirmed? Good
heavens. Talk about paranoia.
Even more weird, perhaps, is
a
press release sent out through Christian Newswire asking “Has the Antichrist
Arrived?” The not-very-subtle press release promotes a new book apparently
about President Obama while discussing signs of the arrival of the
antichrist.
"According to the prophets, most will flock to this remarkable man as the
proverbial moths to the flame. They will be drawn to his warmth and light only
to be destroyed by his fire. Has this epoch moment arrived? Is the greatest
conspiracy of all time unfolding before our eyes?"
Nah, we think the bigger “conspiracy” is actually the rabid kookiness
spreading throughout the land these days. Of course, we know much about that
here in Texas. After all,
State Board of Education member
Cynthia
Dunbar, R-Richmond,
worries that President Obama’s supposed terrorist buddies will
make it easier for him to declare martial
law and tear up the Constitution.
Well, at least that’s what she’s worrying about
when she’s not attacking public schools as “tools of perversion,”
tyrannical and unconstitutional.

Those Whacky Extremists...
You all wanna know something?
Extremists are the real threat to this country and every other. End of story.
The vast majority of the population of this planet falls somewhere in the "between" category, yet we have all these extremist freak shows running around and very loudly exclaiming how everyone should think.
I'm sorry, but there needs to be more choice when deciding the fate of a large group of people.
I want to see more from the normal "middle" people, but I won't. Why?
Extremist views make money .
The lack of common sense makes money.
Wild accusations make money.
Terrifying and preying on fear makes money AND helps control people, that's a two for one deal!
Extremists do all of the above and they like money because money equal power and power is all they need because they are so inadequate.
Stop feeding the corruption people, think for yourselves for a change.

I agree
If the media was a nonprofit organization I doubt you would see the extremes of both sides getting the attention. Since no news agency is really nonprofit you always get what will sell the most ads.

Bush vs Obama!
Heck, at least when Bush and Cheney caused Katrina to devastate New Orleans, it was more or less local and not worldwide! Obama wins hands down!
BTW, Swine Flu isn't much worse than a cold. Only people (mostly the very young and the very old) with seriously compromised immune systems succumb.

Calling it a religious issue doesn't eliminate the core issue
Standing on a religious soapbox to cry about democrats is counter-productive since not only does it fly in the face of the separation of church and state clause of the constitution they claim to uphold, it allows dirt bags in office to marginalize real issues as religious preferences.
Saying that Obama is the Antichrist is silly. But ignoring the fact that a disease no worse than the common cold has been used to declare state of emergencies which are then used to steamroll political agendas is naive.
As for abortion , abortion is premeditated murder motivated by the mere inconvenience of a child's existence. It is no different than tossing a baby in the dumpster. I don't need clarification from anybody's God to know that is wrong. But the sickos who value their convenience over the life of another have been able to push the idea that it is just a religious issue.

In the instances where the mother's life is at risk, I'm not sure "convenient" is the right word.

Good point. If I could revise my comment I would. I was referring to when abortion is done to preserve lifestyle - not life itself. Thanks for the clarification.

Lots of fishy stuff going on
First, don't be caught up thinking all the criticism aimed at Obama comes from only Republicans and conservatives.
The first critical film of Barack Obama, titled "The Obama Deception," by Alex Jones, paints a very clear picture that Obama is merely a puppet for private interests who work behind the scenes. These interests have their hands in nearly EVERYTHING and can manipulate public thought with great ease.
The facts are this: we are not in flu season. The H1N1 virus is a hybrid swine-bird-human flu. And Homeland Security Chief Janet Napolitano says despite having control on the current flu pandemic, they guarantee a much greater flu pandemic will occur.
In 1976, when a swine flu outbreak occurred, ONE person officially died from it, yet about 25 died from the vaccine.
Obama hasn't changed anything about the Patriot Act, Homeland Security or the vice presidential rule of Northern Command. All the potential for abuse of power exists for Obama to run amock.
Our government leaders benefit when we behave irrationally in a state of fear and panic. It gives them more power over our lives. The problem is we have trouble separating reality from political rhetoric.

I totally agree
I completely agree with you on all the points you made. Alex Jones speaks more truth than the government or the interests ever will. And it's well known these groups have done abhorrent acts against people over and over, but everyone seems to believe in letting bygones be bygones while we go down this slippery slope.
What I think is ridiculous is people to keep calling Obama the "messiah" or "Antichrist".
People need to think outside the box and question their own reality. It's easy as a human response to dismiss (since people like the comfort of security and not sail into uncharted waters) what we don't want to hear or what we feel can't be right as false or just a "conspiracy theory". It's even easier for any perpetuators to have this advantage. Sometimes it's not a conspiracy theory. The question we need to ask is 'is it possible?'. If it's possible, then it has just a likely chance of being yes. We all know not everyone wants the best for us (take the petty mugger or random murderer, for example).
The facts are that we are just out of the flu season, the genetic makeup of the swine flu is never before seen and entirely possible that it was human spliced through genetic engineering to create a supervirus. Cases started sprouting worldwide within days. The media and government are overly hyping this and predicting it to be a pandemic in the future, while drug companies are getting excited. When I hear about these things, I get suspicious. And based off what I already learned, I get very suspicious and cautionous.

Bush Crime Family
You have to have the Long-Term Memory of a fruit fly to blame the Swine/NAFTA flu on Obama.
Dick Cheney has been running around, saying the Obama Administration should be more transparent about the TORTURE MEMOS he ordered from his boys at the OLC.
They tried to spread the blame for the TORTURE around to Democrats in congress, and when that didn't wok, suddenly the Swine Flu appeared on the news.

Desprite Times for "Extremists"
My only comment is that they are obviously "desprite". Can't they come up with anything else? What a sad bunch...
