God saves gays but do you think He wants them to stay gay? (by Jeremy, California)Rick Brentlinger answers: God delights in saving gays and everyone else who repents of sin and trusts Jesus Christ alone for salvation.
Nothing in the Bible indicates that God is in the business of changing people's sexual orientation.
So the answer to your question is,
Yes, God wants gays to stay gay because that's the way He made them.
That
doesn't mean God wants people to live sinful lives or promiscuous lives
or selfish lives. Gays and lesbians who get saved are changed into the
image of Christ, from glory to glory, as they walk with the Lord and
obey Him day by day.
Jesus indicates that
one's sexual orientation is fixed at birth and is not a matter of personal choice, Matthew 19:3-12.
Romans
1:26-27 deals with a particular historical situation in first century
Rome. Cybele, the Protectress of Rome and the reigning fertility
goddess of first century Rome, was worshiped by throngs of people in
five worship sites across the Imperial city.
Paul specifically
pointed out the sinfulness of
women and men who
rejected the true God
to worship false gods like Cybele. Paul in no way intended his words to
be misinterpreted to apply to lesbian couples or gay couples.
In my book,
Gay Christian 101, I list 15 interpretations of these verses.
I provide scripturally and historically accurate insight into Romans 1 at these Links.

Who can speak for God?
None of us...The word of God as TRANSLATED from memory of those who witnessed early biblical events and those of JC's life on earth, are just that translations of memory and we all know what happens when the 1st person whispers into the ear of the next and so on...the end translation is often v-e-r-y different from the origins. Yes, I do think He wants Gays to stay Gay, just as He wants the child who suffers from birth defects and MS to remain in their present condition, to teach tolerance, compassion and love for those that are perceived "different", to not judge them and see them as "less than". We are all children of the universe, no more, no less than another. Most gay people I know are good upstanding people. They do no harm, they contribute to society , community and family
they are loving people. I think THATS what God wants from each of us, and as so long as we do and are, the comeback is 10 fold. As my wonderful hetro, staunch Catholic, 86 yr old mother told me, "God made you this way, and He doesn't make junk"

Agreed
God created me the way I am. Why would God want me to become something I am not?

Yes but He doesnt force anyone to change
Changing our lives, no matter what that decision might be, is ours. I beleive that Gd calls us back to him no matter how far away we are, even homosexuality , and the Bible says that He calls back those whom he loves by virtue of chastisment and correction. So I suppose you someone where living the lifestyle of homosexuality if they felt it was wrong and felt Gd showing them it was wrong they should, in my opinion praise the Gd of heaven, because that means He loves them and is calling them back.
You might not agree with this but I do, completely and wholeheartedly. My story at www.hope7.highpowersites.com
Its soo good to be back! Gd bless you!

God doesn't like lying
I read your "story." It is full of lies and hatred. That's definitely NOT what Jesus would do.
God bless you, too. I hope that God is able to bring the truth and love to your mind and heart. It is very difficult to see past the hatred and fear with which misguided teachers infuse young minds, but I trust that God will reveal the truth to you in the end. God loves all God's creations, including God's gay children .

How would you know what Jesus wants?
You dont even profess to know Gd let alone His only son Jesus. Jesus would save someone from killing themselves and homosexuality is killing people in droves, not just physically, but spiritually as well, and even more importantly is their spiritual death because that effects not just this life but eternity too.
You can choose to serve yourself or Gd but its your choice. I choose to serve Gd! I beleive I have made the right choice.

Why do you say that?
What makes you say that I don't "profess to know God?" Why would you assume that I am not a Christian?
I, too, believe I have made the right choice by choosing to serve God. And I would ask you to prove your assertion that committed, loving, monogamous relationships between two people of the same gender are "killing people in droves."

Gladly
Just contact the CDC regarding aids death rates in children age 13-17. As a matter of fact opposingviews had an article recently stating just that fact. You must not be reading legitimate authentic facts otherwise youd know that the homosexual community is worse off now than when they began their tolerance movement in schools . More kids are dying now than ever before and we can thank legislation, liberal teachers, and a very promiscuous homosexual lifestyle for that!

Rising AIDS among 13-17
Rising AIDS deaths among 13-17-year-olds doesn't have anything to do with gay people, particularly not with gay people who are in committed, monogamous relationships. Typically, children who die from AIDS were infected by their heterosexual mothers, usually because of heterosexual promiscuity or her IV drug use . Lay blame where it belongs, not at the feet of gay people in committed, monogamous relationships. I'm no more responsible for those children's deaths than you are, perfecthope.

Well take your pick
You say Jesus would not approve of disapproving of homosexuality but the OT spelled out what sexual perversion was and he told sexually immoral people to SIN NO MORE.
You ignore the evidence against same-sex unions and adoptions and choose to place children and our society, as a whole, in danger.
My estimatation would be that you have made your choice, and that ok, its just not the right one,in my opinion.

The Bible
The Bible says nothing about committed, monogamous relationships between same-gender-oriented people. It has a great deal to say about heterosexuals who commit rape on the battlefield, heterosexuals who engage in idolatrous temple orgies, and heterosexually-married people who commit adultery with people of either gender.
Jesus says absolutely nothing about the topic at all. He condemns adultery, divorce and remarriage, and the hypocritically religious who go about judging others.
On the other hand, the Old Testament DOES condemn wearing clothing of mixed fiber, eating shelfish, and a great many other things which most modern Americans , even those who call themselves " Christians " do on a regular basis.
Jesus loves me. God made me. God brought me together with my beloved spouse of nearly 19 years and gave us our two beautiful children . God does not condemn me for being married to my wife in a marriage every bit as committed, monogamous, holy and sacred as is (I presume) your own.

You didn't answer her question. The only way a woman can get AIDS is through heterosexual sex . What does children with AIDS got to do with lesbians?

Okay
The fact that you blame gay teachers in California for acts of rape and murder committed by criminals.
I think that you are troubled in some way, and my heart goes out to you for whatever has brought you to this state of mind, but you may not simply spread libel with impugnity. Blaming gay people for the acts of murderers, rapists, promiscuous IV drug users... That's no more acceptable that it would be for me to blame YOU for those things. You didn't do it. I didn't do it. Put the blame where it belongs and pray to God to heal and forgive the people who actually RESPONSIBLE for bad things, rather than trying to pin blame on innocent people.

Who dares to speak for God?
It's not for others to decide what God wants for me. Sorry.
It's not for one person to decide what God wants for another. To do that, is to play God.
