Texas clearly doesn’t have a monopoly on right-wing nonsense. A group of Oklahoma lawmakers is issuing a proclamation that blames gays, abortion supporters and a host of other demons for the nation’s current economic crisis. Really.

You can check out the proclamation on the Web site of Oklahoma state Rep. Sally Kern. Kern has made news in the past for — among other things — claiming that homosexuality is a greater threat to national security than terrorism.

The proclamation claims that the nation’s current economic troubles “are consequences of our greater national moral crisis”:

“(T)his nation has become a world leader in promoting abortion, pornography, same sex marriage, sex trafficking, divorce, illegitimate births, child abuse, and many other forms of debauchery . . .”

Then it lays the blame for this moral crisis at the feet of the President Obama for, in part, refusing to participate in a public National Day of Prayer ceremony and for honoring Gay Pride Month (disregarding, the proclamation says, ”the biblical admonitions to live clean and pure lives by proclaiming an entire month to an immoral behavior.”)

The proclamation calls for Christian renewal for the nation and a return to living by biblical principles.

Unlike Kern, apparently, we don’t recall that Lehman Brothers, AIG and a host of other finance powerhouses collapsed last fall because their employees were racing out the door to get abortions or to watch Adam and Steve or Thelma and Louise get hitched.

Needless to say, Kern’s proclamation is raising hackles.

The onle homosexual that should take some of the blame is Barny Frank. But you can't pin it all on him.

As may or may not happen

Rep. Kern will be caught in a homosexual affair. I can only surmise that she is a seriously repressed individual fighting off her homosexual tendencies the only way she knows how.

How many times have we seen this already? Point of curiousity, how come the women don't usually get caught? Probably a self control issue I guess, as I never hear of women getting caught at rest areas soliciting sex in the bathroom stalls.

    Quotable quotes

;"When once a republic is corrupted, there is not possiblity of remedying any of the growing evils but removing the corrupton and restoring its lost principles;every other correction is either uselss or a new evil" Thomas Jefferson
"To educate a person in the mind but not in morals is to educate a menace to society ." Teddy Roosevelt.
And page 60 quote, " We cannot wrest children from the God-given format of family relationships without serious consequences. Also page 62 quote by Mary Stewart van Leeuwen, a Christian feminist, says, She predicts unforeseen consequences from such a radical overhaul of mariage and family.end quote
And my quote of what the book, HOMOSEXUAL AGENDA by Sears and Osten should be retitled,HOMOSEXUALS USE REVERSE MIDAS TOUCH ON CORPORATE AMERICA. And another quote from the book, not mine, is pg 88 Quote, " WHAT HAS OCCURRED IN ACADEMIA IS JUST A MICROCOSM OF THE GREATER GOAL OF HOMOSEXUAL ACTIVISTS TO USE THE POWER OF THE GOVERNMENT TO SILENCE AND PUNISH THOSE WHO DO NOT AFFIRM HOMOSEXUAL BEHAVIOR". end quote.
Quote from book, Look what happened while you were sleeping:quote on page 166,".....by returning to the Christian principles which will secure our childrens future and our nation's continuance." end quote.
Quote from book titled, Civil War Handbook" by William Price from page 15

    Nor deem the irrevocable Past

    As wholly wasted, wholly vain

If, rising on its wrecks, at last

    To something nobler we attain.

    by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Now I dont see all our ails directly attributed to the homosexual community but I have to agree that when we take wrong paths such as promoting homosexuality in schools and attempting to tear down the God given institution of marriage , and when we throw out Gods precepts, we are, in my opinion, asking for trouble on every level and I think we are seeing it. I think the homosexual community is shocked and angry because we are now standing up to them at every level and might I add attaining nobler things, right and left. God bless those who non-violently protect our children and marriage from these activist Nazi's.Nothing against the Nazi's.

    Bible Morality

    PROCLATAION FOR MORALITY
FROM CITIZENS WHO HAVE ACTUALLY READ THE BIBLE

We, the Literate and Reasonable People of the United States who have avoided or escaped the sort of childhood indoctrination that would lead a person to believe that what is done in private with his or her genitals may trigger God’s wrath in the form of tsunamis, terrorist attacks, and economic recession , invoking a morality based on reducing suffering, that the citizens of this country may be free from the enforcement of the brutal, sexist, homophobic and often silly morality of the Bible; to thwart Christians and their co-religionists as attempts are made to pass off dogma as universal morality and erode the separation of church and state ; do establish this proclamation and call upon all those who have ever sassed their parents (Det 21:20-21), disobeyed their husbands (Eph 5:22), picked up sticks on a Saturday (Nmbrs 15: 32-36), or worn anything made of a cotton polyester blend (Lev 19:19) to join with us in protecting morality from Christians who attempt to infect it with their perception of what God told them is bad via the Bible as opposed to actual injustice and suffering.

WHEREAS, “…the Government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian religion …” (Treaty of Tripoli – Signed by President John Adams); and

WHEREAS, “The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods, or no God. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg” (Thomas Jefferson); and

WHEREAS, “A government cannot be premised on the belief that all persons are created equal when it asserts that God prefers some” (U.S. Supreme Court Justice Harry A. Blackmun); and

WHEREAS, “...texts from the source we call Holy Scripture have been used in the past to defend the divine right of kings and to oppose the Magna Carta; to condemn Galileo and to assert that the sun does indeed rotate around the earth; to justify slavery, segregation and apartheid; to keep women from being educated, entering the professions, voting or being ordained; to justify war, to persecute and kill Jews; to condemn other world religions; and to continue the oppression and rejection of gay and lesbian people." (Bishop John Shelby Spong); and

    WHEREAS, “Secularists have no desire to extol the Bible above its merits, nor to depreciate it below its deserts. We gladly admit that it contains some useful precepts; but these, as a rule, are intermixed with so many teachings of an injurious character that their beauty is often overshadowed and their utility annulled. Its coarse language in many places renders it unfit for general perusal, and destroys its value as a standard for every-day life.” (Charles Watts);

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that we, the reasonable citizens of this country, solemnly declare that a system of morality based solely on the Bible would most certainly be considered evil by today’s moral standards: and

BE IT RESOLVED that the HOPE to which we cling, that the laws and morals of these United States will not devolve to the point of Christian theocracy, rests upon our constitutional religious freedom , the separation of church and state; and a thorough reading of the Bible.

There's a book out right now

Glenn Beck wrote it, that bastion of goodness. It's called "Common Sense", based on the book by Thomas Paine. In it, he advocates, among other things, a return to "values", by which of course he means Christian values. I always liked the fact that publicly, Thomas Paine called Christianity "Glorified Sun-Worship" and like to imagine that privately he called it "Mildly retarded".
