A Minneapolis woman is due to give birth November 19 -- and she is inviting the entire world to watch the delivery on the Internet. This, of course, raises the question: Is this something you would watch, or is it a personal, private moment that shouldn't be seen by outsiders?

Lynsee (age 23 and last name not being revealed) has been blogging about her pregnancy on Watch Lynsee Grow! The blog, which operates through the Twin Cities website Moms Like Me, has 900 followers. Many expectant mothers have blogs, but Lynsee is going one step farther in allowing a camera crew into the delivery room, and beaming it live online.

“We wanted to document the pregnancy and create a one-of-a-kind memento for our baby to have forever,” Lynsee told the website's partner KARE-TV 11, which is also following her pregnancy. "You'll be at some of the doctor's appointments... You'll be there in the delivery room, tastefully, but you will be there."

The idea was the brainchild of Moms Like Me site manager Cindy Chapman. "We have the perfect vehicle on the Internet with taking the birth live." She sent a message to site members, asking if any would be interested. Lynsee was one of a dozen women to reply.

“I emailed her right away and she filled me in on the project,” Lynsee told Boston.com. “I talked with my husband and we were excited about it!”

In these days of reality TV where everyone is looking to get rich and famous, that's not what Lynsee is looking for. Although there are a few corporate sponsors on board and KARE-TV helped throw her a baby shower at the famed Mall of America, all gifts were donated to charity. Lynsee is not being compensated for her participation in the project, according Chapman.

With her delivery date just a couple of weeks away, Lynsee says she’s not having any second thoughts about broadcasting the labor and delivery live. “No. It’s the final part of the journey,” she said. “It’s the one big moment and the special part and it’s what I’m looking forward to sharing with everyone the most.”
