Levi Johnston just won't go away. You know that has to be the thinking of 2008 vice presidential candidate and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. The estranged father of Palin's grandson sat for an interview on CBS this week, criticized the politician for her parenting skills and came close to divulging "huge" information about her time in office that "would get her in trouble and hurt her." When pressed on whether that meant "immoral or illegal" behavior, Johnston backed off and said he wouldn't cross that line.

    HUH???

He "criticized the politician for her parenting skills" Yes, she should be criticized for allowing her daughter to date this total schmuck! Also, as for parenting, what has he done for his child lately? I expect to see him next on Jerry Springer, except I don't thing Jerry will stoop that low. Everyone has standards.

    Yawn...

...just another nobody thurst into the limelight by fate, and now missing it.

Reminds of of the Balloon Boy's dad... becoming addicted to the publics attention.

    What could be more damning?

That being incapable of human communication, being a lieing hypocrite, being a rodeo clown for the GOP, and having had to quit a job "for the good of the people"?

What could this doofus have? Is she actually Osama bin Laden and having an affair with Obama?

      Exactly

As someone who believes that John McCain's ill-fated campaign reached its nadir with the announcement of his running mate, I find the Levi phenomenon hard to resist.

      But resist it we should.

We are in the midst of chaotic times, when rational minds and ideas seem to have less influence than sensationalism and ad hominem attacks.

There is only one way out of this maelstrom: independent thinking based on facts and rejection of gossip and innuendo.

That liberals and conservatives can have dignified, meaningful, and respectful debates was proven long ago by William F. Buckley, Jr.

Suitable subjects for debate and discussion are mined from the issues and events which vitally affect us, our country, and the world.

Gossip doesn't rise to that level.

    Train Wreck

Thank god this train wreck of a "family values" candidate never got elected. It seems funny that the same ones who hounded Clinton his whole term want the press to treat her with kid gloves. Hypocrisy much?
