Yoga Provides Something No Other Form of Physical Activity Offers

Yoga services the spine. Other forms of physical activity take into account muscle tone and cardio fitness but what good is a good body and healthy heart if the body is locked up. Without spinal agility, one can barely move. So yoga asks the spine to twist right, twist left, fold forward, and bend backward. Of course the spine is fragile and without proper instruction from a good yoga teacher, yoga can backfire. But there's no doubt that yoga creates space and motion in and around the spine and that is absolutely beneficial.
