After eight years of military restraint putting the citizens of Southern Israel at risk of death, injury, deep trauma and continual terror of 7,500 missiles rockets and mortars from the Hamas terrorist Hezbollah and al-Qaeda style and Iran's ally organization in Gaza, and after two years after Israel has totally pulled out from Gaza territory, Israeli government has finally launched the necessary retaliatory attack. It was perhaps too late to win this war over, since Hamas has already institutionalized itself among the population, and this means the inability to uproot, to dismantle and to eradicate it.
World public opinion must recognize that Hamas is committing four war crimes: a) targeting civilians inside Israeli cities; b) shooting rockets from among civilian population in Gaza; c) using Palestinian civilians, mainly children, as human shields; d) seeking the destruction of a member state of the United Nations and annihilating its people. This means that Israel is acting in self-defense and out of military necessity, and as long as the US will not only totally support Israel but also follow its example to fight all other Islamic terrorist organizations, the Free World is on the brink of extermination under Islamic savagery determination to bring us all back to their 7th century desert.
These vicious terrorists are using women and children as human shields, an inhumane method of defense, while counting on Israel's restrains of counter-attacks rather than kill civilians. For the Arab-Muslims at large, they view hits on civilians as a propaganda benefit and then appeal to the world how cruel are their adversaries. They hide themselves and their weapons in hospitals, mosques, schools, along with children and women, and fire against Israel from precisely these places.
The U.S. Administration totally agrees that the attack against Hamas was necessary to stop the intolerable rocket bombardment, and that the war against Hamas is another step on the war against Islamic terrorism, which must be total and limitless. For the US this is only right action to take courageously.
Alan Dershowitz, the famous law professor at Harvard, declares that Israel's actions in Gaza are justified under international law, and Israel should be commended for its self-defense against terrorism. Article 51 of the United Nations Charter reserves to every nation the right to engage in self-defense against armed attacks. The despicable tactics of Hamas -- targeting Israeli civilians while hiding behind Palestinian civilians -- can only work against moral democracies that care deeply about minimizing civilian casualties. The claim that Israel has violated the principle of proportionality is absurd. There is no legal equivalence between the deliberate killing of innocent civilians and the deliberate killings of Hamas terrorists. Under the laws of war, any number of combatants can be killed to prevent the killing of even one innocent civilian.
There are three clear-cut conclusions:
First, terrorism as the meanest inhuman vicious form of warfare must be eliminated at all costs and without restrains and without hesitations, otherwise the Free World is doomed.
Second, those who do not comprehend that Hamas organization, as much as Hezbollah, must be wiped out, will have to accept Iran as the leading hegemonic power in the Middle East. It is as John Bolton, former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, says, “either we do better, conceptually and operationally, or Iran will be happy to fill the vacuum.”
Third, another perspective must be taken into consideration: when the Islamists decide to perpetuate another 9/11, those who are now marching in the Western streets against Israel’s righteous retaliatory strike are the real threat, a dangerous “Fifth Column” who will rise against our own political order. Seeing the masses of Islamists in the streets of Western cities is, indeed, a wake-up call displaying the enemy within.
