Are Autism and Vaccines Linked?

Children get vaccines at a young age—a time when they most need to be protected against diseases that can be serious and even deadly. Coincidentally, this is around the same time children are developing quickly (learning to sit, crawl, walk and talk), leading people to wonder if the vaccines are related to problems with development such as autism. However, children can show signs of autism in early infancy before receiving vaccines—and even have differences in their brains as early as birth.
