Prop. 8 Supporters Are Not Hatemongers
In California , unquestionably the most gay-friendly state in the country, expressing opposition to same-sex marriage is bound to inspire backlash.
Dare to say that marriage should be exclusively between a man and a woman, and you’re likely to be branded a bigot or a religious zealot. Express concerns about what could happen to children who are raised by gay parents, and you stand to be accused of stereotyping.
Despite what California’s very vocal gay faction would have you believe, supporting Proposition 8 -- the voter initiative on this year’s November ballot that would amend the California Constitution to provide that only a man and a woman can enter into a marital relationship -- is not about interfering with the right of two loving, consenting adults, regardless of gender, to enter into a committed, lifelong relationship and be happy. Concerns about permitting same-sex couples to marry, in fact, have little to do with imposing supposedly archaic religious views on today’s more sexually liberated society or perpetuating anti-homosexual stereotypes. Extending the right of marriage to same-sex couples will impact more than just the gay community.
The Pacific Justice Institute (PJI), a non-profit legal organization specializing in cases involving religious liberties, firmly supports Prop. 8 for the reasons enumerated in the ensuing arguments.

PJI is just a PUPPET for the religious right. Just another den of H8ers. It is a far right agency and their 'studies' have predetermined conclusions (whatever they think is the will of God). There has been absoloutely no rational argument against gay marriage, that is why the courts can not condone it.
The only repercussions to gay marriage being legalized are a lot less money being laundered by 'fake churches' to oppose gay marriage. Don't be so greedy you fake churches have made millions and millions of dollars from persecuting gays in this country. I think legal payback is in order, all these fake churches need to loose their tax free standings , perpetrators within the fake churches should be sent to prison for tax evasion.
Sample: Jerry Falwell's recent statement from the pulpit to his congregation, "If a [gay] man looked at me like that [lustful] I would kill him and tell God he died".
Did the congregation of 'Christians' collectively gasp and pray for Jerry's salvation for espousing murder and for being disrespectful to God? Hell no, they cheered, laughed and applauded heartily.
Are these people Christians? Obviously not! Christians do not kill people or lie to God.
They hate gays and now that they have all but lost the prop H8 battle they are turning to violence and two states are considering recriminalizing homosexuals in return for very large political campaign contributions. And, let us not forget the Evangelical jerks that visit 3rd world countries and press those governments to execute homosexuals, in return for foreign aid. If that isn't hate then what the Hell is it!
Its past time for the government to investigate these political machines, these tax dodgeing fake churches that are nothing but money laundering services for big corpoerations to get their political agendas addressed anonomously. These fake 'Christians are nothing more than loosers desparate to find someone they can oppress so that they feel they are at least better than someone else.
My favorite comment on why gays should not be allowed to marry: "They can't have their own children and they will steal ours". Everyone in the meeting hall applauded wildly. Can they be that stupid? Or is it hate blinding them? I say it is hate.
Perhaps many supporters of Prop 8 do not, personally, intend to be hatemongers. However, so long as homosexuals are treated as lesser members of society there will continue to be murders and beatings of homosexuals by bigots who feel their acts are vindicated by such social treatment. In that respect, no matter what the intention, the acts are those which support hatemongers.
I made an error on my prior posting and clicked on "yes" rather than "no because I didn't watch what I was doing. Don't pander to the bigots by doing the same thing by voting yes on prop 8. It is a violation of the U.S. Constitution and humane actions.
Just a reminder: if Prop 8 passes, gay people will still be able to form relationships with their partners. Nothing with Prop 8 has anything to do with condemning homosexuality.
Supporters of gay-marriage may say all that this is about is 'two loving people getting married.' But it's not that simple, and to think it is is very naive. The possible repercussions of legalizing gay-marriage are innumerable and unknown. We cannot risk to leave these unknown consequences to chance.
When you throw a rock in a pond, the ripples extend very far. Prop 8 is not focused as much on the initial impact of the rock hitting the pond as we are on the ripples that will result.
Yes on 8.
God bless.
The 'partnership' opportunities open to gay couples are nothing like marriage. If your partner of 30 years passes away you get a visit from your partner's family that had disowned her decades ago because she was gay. Now that she's dead the family takes half of the house and investments the couple had made over the decades, the family decides how and where the body of your partner is 'disposed' of. If your partner lingered on life support the family were the one's that had the say so over her treatment and whether or not to pull the plug. Gay partnerships also do not allow for the filing of joint taxes (several thousand dollars a year), does not secure your mutual investments and you can't even visit your partner in ICU because you are not 'family'.
Does that sound equal to marriage? Follow the money trail: big corpoerations do not want to be forced to pay marriage benefits for all the gays and the government doesn't want to loose the revenue. So hate on Baby, but you lost! When it went federal you lost! By the way Holy Matrimony is at a 50% divorce rate, I think you H8ers make a mockery of marriage, entering into brief laisons and creating children with no families. Keep your own dirt under your own rug don't try to give it to the gays.
The possible repurcussions are innumerable and unkown? What kind of argument is that? Either you are too lazy to give any real thought to this matter, or your just so scared of gay people that your brain has shut down. Perhaps take the time to list a few of the horrible repurcussions, or don't try and make the argument at all.
So that's why strong anti-gay people will shoot a gay person just because they're gay? That's why Westboro Baptist Church pickets the funerals of fallen soldiers?
If that's not hatemongering then I don't know what is.
