Should the Internet be Free?

If you’re reading this now, chances are you’re online. Should surfing the Net remain a cash business, or is it time for free admission into cyberspace?

    "Free"

Before one is quick to pronounce what one "should" have in this case, perhaps one ought to remember that, whether or not one is paying the cost of one's "should", someone most certainly IS paying that cost.

On what basis do you demand your "should" at the cost of another?

Let us not forget that the bulk of the internet is a service provided at a cost to consumers by those who have developed, installed and maintained the system. It is barbaric to demand a product of another's labors without compensation.

Perhaps, those who lived long and very hard under communist regimes can give you some insight in that regard. One's demands for equality are likely to get one far more than one has requested.
