Porn Doesn't Inspire Violence

The accusation that porn inspires violence against women is not supported by the facts. According to the Uniform Crime Statistics kept by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the rate of forcible rape declined from 38.1/100,000 in 1986 to 31.7/100,000 in 2005. Where is this epidemic of sexual violence? This propaganda is fueled by the belief that a depiction of sexual activity between adults somehow is “violence.” Conflating paid performances with real life trivializes the experiences of actual victims of violence and sexual assault and is insulting in the extreme. Seeking to transfer the blame for criminal behavior from the perpetrator to some outside trigger goes against the American tradition of personal responsibility and moral integrity.

Some of the worse beatings I received from my now ex-husband were received AFTER he'd watched some of the most digusting stuff that he'd rented. I could go into the gory details, but I won't. Suffice it to say that I totally disagree with this statement.
