Should the U.S. Immediately Begin Withdrawal from Iraq?

The reasons for invading Iraq in 2003 have been debated and analyzed in full. But no matter what conclusions you've made, the U.S. is now left with a serious situation that deserves careful attention. We must determine how long -- or even if -- the military stays. Is it time to start bringing troops home or is more time needed to complete our goals?

No Military Solution

Code Pink

If it is clear, as General David Patraeus stated, that "there is no military solution" for the increasing chaos and destruction in Iraq, then we must leave. Why wait? If it is clear that our presence is causing death, destruction and draining resources from the needs in the US, then we must leave. We've been aware of the negative effects of our futile occupation for years now; it was the platform for the many members of Congress who were swept into office in the last election. Yet, everyday, lives are lost, billions of dollars are spent, Iraqi neighborhoods are turned into jail cells, and the refugee problem worsens exponentially.
