Should 'Abstinence-Only' Sex-Ed be Taught in Public Schools?

What should public schools teach our children about sex? It can be a complex question, especially when dealing with morals, social norms, pop culture, hormones and health. When students sit down for their sex education, should teachers embrace an abstinence-only policy?

Teen-Aid

The real problem with comprehensive sex education is that we had "comprehensive contraceptive education" beginning in the 1970s and in its full-blown "beauty" in the 1980s. The rise of STD’s and out-of-wedlock pregnancy were phenomenal. Parents have no idea what the expanded content of the new generation of "comprehensive" programs teach. As teachers are required to teach the full breath of "medically accurate" aspects of sexual orientations and all of the FDA approved devices, embarrassed, uncomfortable and uninformed teachers will begin teaching less and less. The students will have little or no information. Then the parents will be blamed.
