Maybe Mexico Can Learn From Canada
Regrettably, the United States must now follow-through on congressional mandates and build a border fence or wall along the land border with Mexico.
The fence offends Mexicans because it is a symbol of distrust. The Bush administration was reluctant to build it, because it is a symbol of voters’ lack of confidence in their efforts to secure the southern border. U.S. immigration reform legislation failed earlier this year because of this double lack of trust, and so it is back to the wall – with unhappy officials in both countries feeling that their backs are to the wall on the issue.
Once the new fence is in place, U.S. and Mexican government officials must begin the difficult work of restoring trust between themselves and with the public. Greater trust will eventually make it possible to lower border barriers again. The United States and Canada have shown that it can be done.

What side are you on?
The Mexican gov. will never learn. They are too corupt, too blinded by the drug money and too soft to stand up to anyone. When you have the President of Mexico publicly encouraging his citizens to break the laws of another country, why would we want to work with this goverment? When the Mexican's begin to show they deserve trust by trying to stop their citizens from crossing over, then we will begin to think about starting to trust them again.
