Helping Americans Confront Higher Living Costs
American families are worried about rising gas prices, a deteriorating job market, shrinking retirement portfolios, and falling home prices. John McCain has laid out his Jobs for America Plan (see below), a real strategy to create millions of good American jobs, ensure our nation’s energy security, get the government’s budget and spending house in order, provide access to affordable health insurance, bring relief to American consumers, and allow more Americans facing foreclosure to stay in their homes.
Hard working Americans are suffering from high gas prices and need relief now. John McCain will suspend the federal gas tax to provide immediate relief. He will also secure our energy independence in the long term through a mix of new production here at home and the development of alternative sources of energy.
John McCain Will stop filling the strategic petroleum reserve (SPR) to reduce demand. International demand for oil is bolstered by federal purchases for the SPR. There is no reason to fill it when oil is so expensive; the overall SPR is of adequate size, and when it places further upward pressure on prices.
John McCain will end policies that contribute to higher transportation and food costs. Ethanol subsidies, tariff barriers and sugar quotas drive up food prices.

Stop trying to help us and get out of the way.
Neither of these guys will do that, which is why I won't vote for either of them.
Who have jobs already and are struggling because our cost of living doesn't match wages in our state? Nothing in this argument would help my family at all.
Placing a McCain approved video here is not evidence that John McCain has the right plan for the economy. We all put country first. John McCain does not have a monopoly on patriotism.
