Has Guantanamo Prison Made America Safer?
On May 21, 2009, two American leaders, one a current president, the other a former vice president, stood before the world and gave two radically different answers to the same question: has Quantanamo Bay made America safer? While President Obama insisted that Guantanamo and the interrogations that took place there were the product of fear-mongering, Dick Cheney declared that closing the detention camp would be reckless and place Americans at great risk. Gitmo is not Unconstitutional
The US Constitution does not apply to non-citizens, and it certainly doesn't apply to enemy combatants. The radical Islamic militants detained at Guantanamo consider themselves to be at war with the United States, and seek our destruction. They should be treated as such.
