Is Global Warming a Crisis?

Global warming has quickly become one of the most heated issues in America (pun intended). Rising temperatures and melting icebergs are indisputable evidence that the Earth is warming, but is this global heat wave a man-made crisis or just overblown hype?

Even Bush, U.S. Military, British Petroleum, Wal-Mart Agree With Us

One thing climate change deniers can’t deny is that some skeptics are slowly coming to terms with reality and changing teams. Global warming deniers like to call us "environmental alarmists.” But do alarmists include the likes of President George W. Bush, U.S. military leaders, and numerous corporate executives?

After years of denying and dismissing the issue, Bush, who has one of the most pathetic environmental records in recent memory, has acknowledged climate change and has proposed solutions, although they are inadequate ones. On May 31, 2007, Bush said in a speech, “In recent years, science has deepened our understanding of climate change and opened new possibilities for confronting it.” In his 2007 State of the Union Address, he said, “America is on the verge of technological breakthroughs that will enable us to live our lives less dependent on oil. These technologies will help us become better stewards of the environment and they will help us to confront the serious challenge of global climate change.”

The U.S. military also regards climate change a national security threat. And big corporations, such as Wal-Mart, Virgin, and BP, have urged immediate action to lessen carbon emissions.

If global warming is a hoax conjured up by crazy environmentalists, why are Bush, the military, and big polluters spending time and energy proposing solutions?
