Civil Marriage is About Love, But it is Also About Responsibility

Civil marriage is a declaration of love, but it is also a commitment to take responsibility for each other. For the life of me, I can’t see why the state would put up a barrier to two people taking responsibility for each other, come what may. We need more people taking responsibility for each other, not less.
