Circumcision Destroys Physiological Functions

The foreskin is a specialized organ, with protective, sensory, mechanical, and sexual functions, which are destroyed by its amputation.

The foreskin protects the meatus of infant boys from ammoniacal diapers and prevents meatitis, meatal ulceration, and meatal stenosis.

Moreover, the foreskin has immunological functions that prevent infection. The most important pathogen in urinary tract infection (UTI) is Escherichia coli, present in feces. The muscle fibers in the foreskin form a whorl at the orifice that serves as a preputial sphincter, keeping feces away from the meatus and helping to prevent UTI in infants. The subpreputial moisture contains lysozyme, which destroys pathogens. For example, circumcised adult males have a higher incidence of non-specific urethritis and circumcised boys have more Staphylococcus aureus in the urethra.

The foreskin is a specific erogenous zone, which is the most highly innervated part of the penis. A ridged band, which originates from the frenulum and encircles the opening of the foreskin, contains nerve endings arranged in rete ridges near the mucocutaneous boundary. The foreskin contains the tissue on the penis most sensitive to fine-touch . Circumcision degrades sensory input to the central and autonomic nervous systems and results in an increase in intra-vaginal ejaculatory latency time.

The foreskin has important mechanical functions. Since the foreskin is not attached to the underlying structure, it is free to glide back and forth over the glans penis during intercourse. The penis glides in the foreskin during intercourse, reducing friction, vaginal dryness and abrasion and makes intercourse more comfortable for both partners. The force required to penetrate increases 10-fold when the foreskin is absent.

Destruction of the foreskin may also adversely affect physiological function in the female partner. Lack of the foreskin is implicated in female sexual arousal disorder.

Destruction of these protective and sexual functions degrades health and well-being throughout life, so non-therapeutic circumcision of infants and boys should not be performed.

My first impression when reading this was that the whole post was suspect for this had to be untrue!

It is beyond my comprehension that there could be such a difference as 10X!

Then I followed through on the link and discovered that this difference was indeed measure with instruments BUT - a real penis was used for the with foreskin and a rigid container mock up for the "circumcised". Definitely not the same article!.

In real life there would be no such thing as 10x difference providing there was any foreplay or arousal of the female.

Furthermore the penis with the foreskin had the foreskin over the end at the beginning of the intromission. When I had a foreskin I never encountered this situation because the foreskin would always retract by the time insertion took place. I can understand that someone with an extremely long foreskin or with phimosis could achieve intromission with the glans covered. Masters and Johnson found the foreskin would usually be retracted in most cases. So this is a moot point- it rarely occurs.

The "gliding action" is the crux of the supposed difference. I found that eliminating "gliding action" by getting circed created a noticeable improvement in sensations to the coronal area by not being blunted by being insulated from direct contact by the foreskin.

Further- considerable amount of coital activity occurs with a condom which completely negates such possibility- or maybe not if the condom comes off due to being on the moveable foreskin!

The rest of the story on intromission as well as on "female arousal disorder" is that it is a matter of the individuals involved- not a matter of foreskin or not. Adequate foreplay provides the lubrication and tumescense in both partners for successful, sensuous thrusting of a penis in a vagina!

The world over circumcision sprang up because there was a reason for it!

Of course ones foreskin retracts when errect. However, the foreskin can still be pulled over to avoid skin/glans/skin friction for insertion (it stays in the same place relative to the labia, outer vaginal opening -- moving back relative to the glans with insertion). It is the skin/skin friction that is an issue on insertion and yes if one does not pull the foreskin over to slip it in, the initial insertion is about the same (except give and no skin skin stick). Once you know about the pull over and slip in, it is difficult to justify starting sex otherwise. It is not such a big deal, but once you lose the foreskin, this natural feature is taken away.

The "gliding" action also can involve the vagina grabing the member which brings the stretch pleasure sensation from the inner foreskin. This is something that cannot be restored as the nerves are unique and amputated by the cut.

With a condom on, sex is much more like circumcised sex. However, the touch nerves (otherwise cut off) and the stretch sensitive nerves (otherwise cut off) still feel a bit and the condom follows the skin to some exten so there is some movement there without slip off.

Female disorders-- A female partner explained this very well to me. Natural is different and allows for much better chances of simultaneous orgasim. There is a dynamic action that does not occur after the reduction surgery. Natural, there can be a gripping of member and this can make glans flare (broaden). The contact is in her words better and more intimate. Granted the people involved matter quite a bit.

A bit of personal history: I had a complete, good working foreskin until age 42 so know what that is like. Also i was in livestock farming the first 1/3 of my life.

Since livestock farming is dependent on reproducing more animals , livestock farmers will (excpt for artificial insemination) be witnessing sexual acts.

I have never seen any effort by male animals to introduce the prepuce into the vagina along with the penis itself. In most instances the purpose of the prepuce sheath is to support the penis- flaccid or erect, keep it from hanging to low to the ground- and- importantly- to assist steering the penis. I am sure there are nerve endings along the sheath. Those in men may have some tickle built in but are largely similar to what occurs in finger tips. There are a lot of them because they exist largely as a precision space measuring system.

When I had a foreskin it would always be retracted for sex and it would have little expectation of being relocated over the glans.

I am pleased to say that the circumcision heightened erotic feeling in the area just behind the corona as stimulus was direct- not being reduced by an insulting foreskin- I hope that anyone who was circumsised at birth and has taken the bait of the anti circ people that might happen to read this take note!

Since my foreskin was capable of remaining permanently retracted this was the mode it was worn in from age 12 to 42. This was as clean as being circumcised and had the better visual appeal.

Why hide your candle under a bushel!
