Binders, Fillers, and Other Chemicals May Be Different
The active ingredient in a generic drug must be the same as in the original, BUT other chemicals are permitted to be different. Some people may have sensitivities or allergies to these chemicals. These “inactive ingredients” may also affect the rate of delivery of the active drug (as described below).
Unfortunately, current labeling of generics does not highlight these differences.
It is important that consumers and doctors consider the change to a generic, or from one generic to another, as a potential cause of new symptoms.

There are some generics that are good. Some are just plain junk. One in particular sent me to ER. From what I am told, this particular generic had the same active ingredients, but it still put me in the hospital where they gave me nothing but brand-name.
