Barack Obama is Committed to Creating Jobs
By AFL-CIO President John Sweeney
Today’s financial crisis is rocking Wall Street and Main Street. The stock market's tumble has wiped out $2 trillion in Americans' retirement savings. More than 760,000 Americans have lost their jobs so far this year.
This election gives Americans a stark choice -- continue down the road we’re currently on… or turn around America to one that works for everyone.
Barack Obama is committed to creating good, middle-class jobs, and wants to end tax breaks for corporations that send American jobs overseas. He will protect Social Security and has a plan to make health care affordable for all Americans. Obama will be a candidate that stands with working people, not the corporate elite.
John McCain has been part and parcel of the war on working people. He's stood with George W. Bush to protect the interests of the very wealthy and his lobbyist friends from Big Oil and corporate America.
The middle class is disappearing -- America's workers can't afford another day of the disastrous Bush policies.
There's no question that our very future -- and our children's futures -- are at stake in this election. That's why I believe Americans will make history this November and turn our nation in a new direction.

Aw, this was a very nice post. In idea I would like to put in writing like this moreover taking time and actual effort to make a very good article but what can I say I procrastinate alot and under no circumstances appear to get something done. solomonbrothers discount housebound
This AFL-CIO post isn't even an argument. It doesn't attempt to actually back up anything. The language used is just to illicit an emotional and feared response (a poor tactic employed heavily by both candidates and their surrogates). There's no effort to even to discuss how Obama will bring about these "good middle class jobs" or where the money to create these jobs will come from. Then throw in some mention of the evil corporations and big oil and boom case closed.
This is sad. This whole election is sad. Whomever wins this election Americans lose.
Politicians don't create jobs, entrepreneurs do.
Entrepreneurs need not create jobs if they don't want to. Sometimes they can even fire lots of people. A politician can create jobs. If they establish money for infrastructure improvements for example more people are needed to do the work and hence more people get hired for those jobs. Maybe they're working for entrepreneurs, but the jobs wouldn't be there without the politicians changes. How many people get jobs due to the economic activity spurred by the Iraq war? Even "conservative" politicians can create create jobs.
