The fact that in the article it says "animals used for food " says more than I ever could about how redundant this article really is. If people would just eat meat, they would get much more protien, vitamins, and minerals than they get from eating plants or a following a vegan diet. Which would mean that it would take twice the amount of plants to meet someone's nutritional needs than it would if they would just eat meat which in turn would help REDUCE world hunger. I believe that animals do have rights and that while on this planet they deserve to be treated properly, but I also believe that God put them on this planet in the beginning to be eaten by humans.

#1) Farmers in america are paid to not grow crops. If land use for food production was a problem, this would not be happening.
#2) Weather or not we raise animals for food, we will still need to feed them, they will not just disappear.
#3) Much of the food grown and feed to animals is easily grown food such as corn or grain, which we already have an abundance of. Not all food can be grown in all places, so if these easy to cultivate foods were not being fed to the animals, they would stop being grown, and much of the land would just go unused.
