Is homosexuality a sin?

When many people read that question, they fail to differentiate between innate orientation and sinful activity. Is heterosexuality a sin? Certainly some activities engaged in by heterosexuals are sinful just as some activities engaged in by homosexuals are sinful. Yet homosexuality and heterosexuality in themselves are not sinful.

To say that homosexuality is always sinful morally, sexually and spiritually is as silly as saying the opposite, that heterosexuality is never sinful morally, sexually and spiritually. God is more concerned with our heart and our motives than with the adult to whom we are affectionally attracted.

Is a gay couple in a 40 year monogamous partnership morally inferior to an opposite sex couple who cheat on each other or get divorced? If your reading of the Bible compels you to answer Yes, you need to meditate on Jesus' words in Matthew 7:12 and 22:36-40. Its not with whom you go to bed or what you do in bed that matters so much, Hebrews 13:4. What matters to God is your heart.

According to Galatians 3:10, even if you keep Leviticus 18:22, "thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind," when (not if) you violate some other part of the Law, its as if you violated all of it. 

According to Jesus, God's great commandment is that we love one another responsibly, faithfully, joyfully, Matthew 22:36-40.
